In this day and age, we're constantly talking about new fashion and new trends, and we're always looking for the next big thing–when it comes to trivial things like mobile phones, clothes, or computers, we just can't get enough. We here at homify, however, are obsessed with new home design, especially when it comes to renovations. Nothing is better than being able to see a ruined, old-fashioned home being transformed into something truly astounding. So if you haven't guessed it already, we're going to show you one such home!

We can thank the architect Francesca Greco for the renovation we're viewing today. Situated in Milan, Italy, this home demonstrates a minimal classic style and uses soft tones to convey tranquility. Come with us and see how this once dumpy home has become a haven of timeless style.

Before: a disorganised dump

Upon first glance, we admit that we can see some promising pieces of furniture, such as the hutch in the background, but the sofa and chair set we have just clashes with the floors and other random articles in the room. The floor is also less than ideal in this space–the pattern is too overwhelming in combination with the pattern on the furnishings.

After: clean and charming

As you can see, this architect didn't gut absolutely everything in the room to do this makeover. We still have the sofa and chair set, and this time we have to say it fits much better with the decor. The old and worn out floor has been replaced with sleek white contrete, and the all-white interior really brightens up this space and makes it look much larger than the previous image. And we also have the additon of a sleek glass didnng room set, that brings the whole room together and really gives it that classic look.

Befre: messy, messy

Here we have the kitchen, which we can see is badly damaged. The tiles are old and shabby, the cabinets and the flooring is so outdated, and the lighting is absolutely atrocious. And is that an incredibly inconvenient light switch placement on the backsplash we see? This kitchen needed a makeover badly…

After: brand-spankin' new!

The new kitchen is of course the same size as the old, but this time, it looks much more modern and comfortable. Thin subway-style tiles were used on the wall to add to the contemporary design and to take some dramatic patterns away from the space. And with tons of cabinet space and fresh new appliances, the functionality of the room has at least doubled, proving once again that our architects don't just focus on improving your personal style, but also the way in which that style can help you in your everyday life.

Before: dark and dismal

This is the bedroom of the home. It's so dark and cluttered in here that we wonder how anyone could have gotten a restful night's sleep in this room. We can see the same floor style that we saw in the old living room, which honesty just adds to the confusion of the space, and there are far too many pieces of furniture for this area with this decor.

Let's see how our architects remedied this situation…

After: sleep tight!

We always love when we can achieve great things, and we can say without a doubt that this architect achieved the best there is! The first difference we notice is the incredible amount of light in this new space. Isn't it amazing what natural light can do for you? A large-and-in-charge king-sized bed has replaced the scrawny one we saw earlier, and the old brown and deteriorating cabinets were replaced with pristine white ones, adding more classic charm to the room.

So there you have it! Even the grimiest of homes can become something great with the right help!
