Hospitality is an art and a science. It can affect your relationship with your guests in the same way as it can impact their comfort or ease towards you in general. There are ways however to breeze through hospitality and accommodating your guests. Learn and apply these tips so you can slowly or maybe even quickly master being Mr. or Ms. Hospitable.

1. Have a relaxing living room

Nothing says Welcome, home! quite like a cozy living room. This area is after all like a default place to entertain your guests especially when you can't have all the fancy terraces and porches to really wow them. In any case, the living room should cater to you, your family, and guests' needs. A cozy living room should be spacious, well-lighted, and has enough seats to accommodate your projected guests. One cool trick for a couch is purchasing one that doubles as a bed where people can conveniently sleep on.

2. Arrange an accessible kitchen

Food is more often than not served or shared for or with your guests so logically, an accessible kitchen with convenient shelving, storage, and arrangement would be of great help. We're talking about accessible silverware or plates during dinners, easy to find condiments, well-preserved drinks in a spacious and clean refrigerator, among others. When you have these settled, you'll most likely get satisfied customers!

3. Have a convenient wash room

The wash room can be referred to as a bathroom. We're particularly focusing on sinks where guests can wash their hands or freshen up upon arrival. To make the bathroom more useful, situate it close to your main hall, entrance, or living area where there is more foot traffic. You can also play with the theme of your bath room like going Asian with its design as seen above.

4. Organize your laundry room

You may encounter guests who'd stay over for a night or two without them preparing enough clothes or it could be that one guest accidentally spilled tomato juice over his white shirt. In these instances, a convenient laundry room equipped with a well-maintained washing machine and dryer or even just a decent area to properly hand wash laundry would be an ultimate savior. This one is particularly neat and organized which lessens all fuss that come with badly stained white shirts.

5. Hang or store items in a closet

A closet that's close to the entrance would also be a clever trick to assist your guests who might've brought dripping umbrellas, raincoats, and other bulky items that need not be worn or brandished around the house. After spending time with you, they can simply take these items again and take off.

6. Build a cool lanai or terrace

A terrace, as we've mentioned earlier, can be used to entertain guests. If you're thinking about having one, consult professionals about how you can maximize the space to accommodate your guests. You can go for comfy outdoor furnishings accentuated by plants. There are a lot of designs to choose from actually and you can look for them here at homify.
