There are certain rooms that guests are guaranteed to see and that you will necessarily spend a lot of time in and chief among them is your living roomInterior designers make getting the right balance of style, comfort and class look so easy, but we think it's a heck of a lot more complicated and involved than it first appears, which is why we are going to show you a host of very differently styled living rooms, in a bid to give you some designer inspiration. We know you'll love the variety of motifs and aesthetics here, so come and see which is the most appealing to you… you might be surprised!

1. Art Deco.

Decadent, eternally glamorous and filled with monochrome contrasts, Art Deco living rooms always make such a big statement, as this one proves. Just look at the mirrored fireplace, symmetrical art and black-framed furniture! Utterly incredible.

We needed another look at this living room and now, you can see that even the windows perfectly match the overall style of the space. All of the mirrored accents glimmer with the ambient evening light switched on!

2. Contemporary chic.

The heady mix of so many different materials and finishes here has created a super contemporary hybrid living room. Everywhere you look, something new and exciting catches your eye, whether it's a floating media center, statement light fixture or bold window seat!

Oooh, spin around in this living room and you see it really is the ultimate in contemporary spaces, as it seamlessly transitions into a kitchen and dining room as well! Beautiful stuff!

3. Urban glamor.

This apartment's living room is city styling at its best! Bright white walls, camouflaged storage, designer furniture and vibrant accent hues have all come together in one beautiful scheme that allows for unusual and interesting accessories to slot straight in. We are a little in love with that orange rug!

Just look at the chrome furniture that has been included in this living room. Definitely not a standard touch, it offers multiple points of reflection for all the sunlight that pours in and just look at how the view has almost become part of the decor! Ingenious!

4. Hints of traditionalism.

We are always really drawn to those homes that have a little heritage, but don't play on it or ignore it too much, but instead, look at complement it with some piquant modern touches and that's what we have here! Inset wall shelves are so heritage, but couple them with retro furniture, bright accents and a modern woodburner and you have a really engaging mix of style that overall, feels so right.

Seriously, the gray, white and yellow colour scheme here works so well that we have to wonder if there is any era that it wouldn't support. W doubt it!

5. All-out luxe.

Erm… WOW! This could actually be a film set, that's how luxurious and unapologetically eye-catching this living room is! Decadent pink meets tub chairs and gorgeous antique furniture and the lasting impression is one of a really unique and personal space, designed to be enjoyed to the full!

6. Minimalist heaven.

This minimalist living room looks so chic, understated and unfussy that we have to say, we could be tempted to throw out most of our furniture in order to emulate it! Soft gray hues work perfectly with the largely white surfaces and a simple corner plant makes everything come together so beautifully.

7. Rustic coziness.

Isn;t it shocking, what a big impact some natural wood and the right textiles can have? Add gray hues to this living room and it could be as minimalist as the last, but thanks to natural wool, warmer colours and a lovely statement mirror, it's actually undeniably rustic and inviting! Warm neutrals really do seem to have magical powers when it comes to interior design!

8. Modernist freshness.

Finally, let's end on a dazzling note! A myriad of pastel tones bring spring to mind and leave this living room looking like a proverbial breath of fresh air. The large window is certainly being put to great use, to draw in restorative natural light and add in a striking piece of art and you have nothing but spring breezes and relaxation washing over you as you look at this charming room!
