The bedroom is a place of refuge for the teenage boy, a place where he can feel safe and have his own privacy. A teenage boy's bedroom is his private space to sleep, play, study, and have his friends over.

When it comes to designing a teenage boy's bedroom, it is most important to focus on the functionality of the bedroom in the design and the decor. Consider creating a study space, and a space where he can chill out with his friends or play his video games, and make sure there is adequate storage space for all his hobbies.

As for decorating, try to keep it as flexible as possible because the boy might have his own ideas about how he wants to decorate his room. However, not all teenage boys are into decorating, so you may want to take into consideration his hobbies or favorite colors and integrate that into the bedroom design and decor.

Let's browse through some of these bedroom design ideas for teenage boys to find some inspiration.

Green teenage boy's bedroom

This teenage boy's bedroom is dominated by the color green and blended with earthy hues of brown and cream. Green is a calming color as well as the color of growth and regeneration, making it perfect for a teenage boy. However, best to consult with him first about the colors.

Overall this room has a neutral and flexible design which can be played around with to create the desired effect. For more related ideas, have a look at bedrooms for teens

The yellow, black, and white color repeated throughout the room has earned the bedroom the title of bumblebee, which is quite fitting for an active teenage boy. The yellow accents and details throughout the room give the room a zesty lively feel, while black and white neutralize the room.

The bed is equipped with hidden storage space, perfect for keeping the mess out of sight and creating more space in the room. Wall decor consists of a world map, some small wall-mounted shelves, and a unique mirror piece.

This modern bedroom for teenagers is designed by Rooom, designers in Switzerland.

Plain bedroom

Sometimes the best option is to go for the plainest most simple design you can find. This way, you give your teen the most freedom and personal space to decorate the room as he wants or keep it simple the way it is.

Here a light shade of grey is used on the walls and for the furniture, creating a flexible background for decoration. We can see that this bedroom focuses more on functionality, while the decor is kept to a minimal. A small study space and built in wall storage complete this simple room.

Batman returns bedroom

The wallpaper depicts a city skyline reminiscent of a scene from a Batman movie, and we think it is quite fitting for a teenage boy's bedroom whether he's a fan of Batman or not. Overall, this bedroom has imagination and a sophisticated flair to it.

The color blue pervades this room, a typical color for a boy, but also a very calming color which may be ideal for raging hormones and mood swings. And if color psychology doesn't work, there's always the little gym in the corner to release some frustration and stress.

Hobby corner in the bedroom

Adolescence is a time of exploration and is often characterized by the search for identity. Hobbies help adolescents grow in the direction that they like best. So consider your teen's hobbies when designing his bedroom.

Here you can see a red punching bag against a navy blue background of a cushioned wall, perfect for the teen that loves boxing. There's also plenty of storage space and shelves to accommodate other hobbies.
