Our clients purchased a condominium in Thornhill that was built in 1991. The 25 year old interior was dated and in poor repair. We removed the wall between the kitchen and the living area, making an interactive open concept space. We removed all the ceramic tile and cabinets from the kitchen, bathrooms and the hall. A new floor to ceiling marble wall with a built in linear fireplace and bookcases was added to the living room which draws you into the space. We were able to create visual interest with a drywall coffered ceiling in the living room, which then allowed us to run the wiring required for the pot lights and chandelier. The oval dining table with star burst veneer and chrome detail is in perfect harmony with the crystal and chrome chandelier. Upholstered wood frame chairs and the upholstered curved bench adds warmth and comfort to this open concept space.Transitional 2 toned shaker kitchen cabinets with a panel ready fridge and wall ovens tucked around the corner, out of site, blends beautifully with the transitional living and dining room. Large scale art, brings drama to the space. The stove top with a modern textured glass backsplash and stainless steel hood, is centered between cabinets and drawers above and below. This creates a space that is both functional and beautiful. The master bedroom has an upholstered wood frame Astral by Micheal Berman is paired with wood veneer and chrome detailed night tables. Modern crystal lamps, neural textured bedding and drapes creates a relaxed and comfortable master bedroom retreat. The espresso cabinets in the master ensuite contrasts beautifully with the oriental white marble floors, walls and counter top.The extra large shower stall with a bench adds convenience and luxury to the space. Art deco inspired bench is finished with a charcoal textured leather shagreen. In the guest bathroom, the taupe lacquered cabinet blends perfectly with the linear veined marble on the floor and shower walls. The Cole & Son floral wall covering, completes the look. The entry table and matching mirror are made of silver shell stone. The leather stools tucked below, contrast in texture with the wool runner. The combination of organic materials creates an interesting entrance to this condominium. All new modern doors, trim, baseboards and chrome hardware has given this 1991 condominium a modern and timeless look.
