Having just bought the property our clients approached us to refurbish and re-model the ground floor living/ kitchen spaces to this Victorian terraced home in Queens Park, North London. Previously being a dark ground floor we formed larger rooflights permitting daylight where most needed. The brief called for additional storage for the expanding young family and this was created as a central hub housing utility room, coat / buggy store allowing views to be opened up from living spaces at the front of the house to the rear garden beyond.
The re-modelled kitchen / dining area has a distinctly Nordic feel featuring whitened Douglas Fir flooring complementing a new kitchen specially imported from Norway with well proportioned and minimal design details. The finishes throughout the property consist almost entirely of whites and greys and provide a calm backdrop to the vibrant soft furnishings, and elegant freestanding joinery and lighting. The project was featured in Norwegian lifestyle / design magazine ‘Bo Bedre’. Completed. November 2012 Photography. deDraft
