Technical and productive features of the balustrades
The materials and the technologies
adopted for these balustrades ensure reduced maintenance costs,
durability and energy savings. The inside railings will be made of
bronze painted steel and will follow the curved lines of the spaces and
of the stairs inside the biospheres, which characterize the pavilion.
The handrail is in cherry color wood multilayer, finished with
intumescent paint; the posts made of laser cut blades and vertical
tensioned steel cables, with hidden junction points. The outside
railings will be made of stainless steel AISI 316 satin finished with
double binate plate posts. A special handrail will be used, with
dimmable and uniform lighting system, the LED Railing System of IAM
Design, studied and designed in compliance with the safety regulations
both from the positioning and ergonomic point of view of the object and
from the lighting point of view. The handrail will be installed
off-axis, towards the inside to ensure higher safety. The white light
LED, located inside the handrail, will illuminate the path giving a
pleasant effect that will stand out the forms of the underlying
structure, besides ensuring the safety of the structure even during the
evening.
The Azerbaijan Pavilion, “Azerbaijan, Treasure of Biodiversity”
The project of the Azerbaijan
pavilion “Azerbaijan, Treasure of Biodiversity” is realized by
Simmetrico network, group of creative persons conceived by Daniele
Zambelli in 2007. The pavilion is an example of landscape and cultural
biodiversity of the country, through three glass biospheres with double
curvature. The undulating wooden walls preserve the microclimate of the
structure and cut down the energy consumption; they embrace the
pavilion and evoke the wind, typical of Azerbaijani territory and symbol
of the cultural and creative flows that always passed through it. The
first biosphere is the one of the most evocative
historical-naturalistic views of the country, always geographical and
cultural crossroads; the second is dedicated to the biodiversity, in
terms of multiplicity, plurality and wealth both from a natural and from
anthropological point of view; the third is the one that draws the
liaison between innovation and tradition, very alive in Azerbaijan. All
the materials and spaces have been designed to make the
pavilion readapted and functional also in the years coming. After the
exhibition it will in fact be disassembled and moved to Azerbaijan, in
the capital Baku, where it will become the center dedicated to
biodiversity.
