Marie TALALAEFF

Projects

New project

In 1993, Marie Talalaeff graduated from the ESMOD Fashion Design and
Creation school in Paris worked as a creative designer for various French textile companies.

She has a passion for material and for the way it feels to the touch. She has developed an interest for the plasticity of paper, which has now become her favourite material.

As an artist, Marie has a passion for her materials and their tactile qualities. She has developed a particular fascination in the three-dimensional possibilities of paper, which is currently her favourite material.’

Marie is a committed colourist and uses a selective colour palette drawn from nature.

She is particularly interested in the creative potential of white and the way in which white materials can enhance and accentuate the sculptural aspects of her work.

In 2008, she started creating objects from her workshop in Paris (2°), but soon moved to Marly le Roi – a small town outside Paris – to give her more space to create and explore her papier maché animal artworks.

In 2011, she exhibited her works at Medley in the Marais quarter in Paris. In 2011, she became a member of the prestigious organisation promoting French Art Workshops ( Ateliers d’Art de France). Since then she has been looking to develop her business with professionals and has taken part in exhibitions such as “Maison et Objet”.
