Located in the desirable residential area of Chelsea, London, this luxurious family home is in the picturesque Rose Square. Commonly referred to as The Bromptons, Rose Square is a redevelopment of the original 1844 Brompton Hospital, built on three acres of land that was formerly a market garden.
Roselind Wilson Design was called upon to refurbish a 2,209 square foot three-bedroom duplex apartment on the second and third floor. With a brief to marry the exquisite architectural detail with the interior architecture of the apartment, Roselind Wilson Design ensured it was up to date in terms of technology, whilst clearly reflecting the personality of the client in order to create a space that felt unequivocally like a home away from home. The end result is a sumptuous apartment that is stylish, beautiful and comfortable.
The contemporary living room steers slightly away from the heavy colour palette used in the rest of the home to encourage a more serene atmosphere. The pale blue walls meld in with the grey sofas and the light brown ottoman. The pastel blue accessories and the floral artwork adorning the walls complement the matte fire place without being too central. The ornate sculpture atop the fire place maintains the historical accents of the home alongside the smoked glass chandelier in the dining area.

The dining area combines subtle elements of traditional with modern impressions. The airy space uses natural lighting from the French window brightening up the space. The circular dining table is a bespoke touch enhanced by the metallic vase. An assortment of peach coloured flowers enriches the two-toned brown table leaning against the wall with its mild orange lamp shades and a beautiful Roman sculpture.
The kitchen is sleek and functional with an appropriately sized dining unit. Mild green accessories are perched on the circular table to add a pop of colour to the white kitchen.
The luxurious entrance hall successfully combines classic and contemporary to create beautiful character. The hallway uses very warm tones with cream wallpaper emphasising the sleek black door with silver locks. The flooring carries a similar theme with black-and-white hexagonal carpeting. Opposite the door, a deluxe, low-level marble table with swathes of brown and gold is balanced against subtle textured wall paper. The Paris Collection marble table top is perfectly accessorised with two ornate lamps, engraved with Greco-Roman designs and a similarly designed sculpture.
The spacious drawing room exudes a sense of grandeur and luxury. The walls have been painted a calm blue with white framing and truly beautiful decorative, golden wall lights that pair excellently with the gold framed artwork. The white stripes on the wall complement the intricately designed ceiling which features embossed floral outlines across the space. The two seat sofas are both naturally coloured but come to life with the variety of patterned cushions in several complementary colours.
The dual-themed drawing room is the formal entertaining area with amplified acoustics for an unimaginable listening experience. The bespoke furniture, such as the two-toned coffee table with its sleek finish, pair well with the tailored wall-hung TV. The golden wall mirror elevates the silk and mohair patterned hand-knotted rug which forms the foundation of the drawing room. The flowing Ripple Paper curtains enhance the natural light from the French window whilst the black and white fireplace provides the space with a traditional feel and, the vintage firearm accessories above, accentuate this classic touch. The green lampshade and marble table top with vintage gold legs complete the luxurious drawing room.
A quirky hexagonal black-and-white carpet has been laid on the landing to the upper floor, which is offset by a Louis XVI armchair upholstered in soft Volga linen. The beautiful seating is adorned with silky cushions, elevating the luxurious feel. Glamorous wall lights have been installed to add an ambient feel to the space alongside two pieces of silver-framed art work.

The master bedroom features soft blue silk walls and a silver faux silk carpet for ultimate luxury. The headboard creates a contrast to the 600-thread count crisp linen for the beds all layered in the satin patterned bedspread and charcoal checked throws. The pinewood bedside tables both consist of large cream lampshades, uniquely patterned bedside tables. The bedroom furniture had been bespoke designed in bird’s eye maple with fabric clad drawers, and the walls are adorned with artwork with silk mounts ad hand-painted frames to create a luxurious sanctuary.

An elegant slab of marble floats above a stylish drawer unit, creating space for towel rails at each end. The stunning wall mirror incorporates unique lighting with a glass finish. The clean marble floors blend in perfectly with the marble sinks.
Towards the end of the bathroom, a relaxing spar unit has been installed. The alcove has been put to great use with a lounger and starlit sky, created using fiber optics to brighten up the space. The comfy nook takes up much of the space, without dominating the serene area.
The chic bathroom opts for a white, clean finish emphasised by the additional gold detail. The brass handles marry well with the gold and white bathroom accessories, without overpowering the natural bathroom style.
The guest bedroom features a cream coloured dresser against cream wallpaper. The dressing table is subtle with a wooden finish matching the pale Roman blinds above. The mild orange pattern on the blinds emphasise the textured orange stool and the simple accessories perched on the dresser.
