From the clipboard of the Bahian architect Antonio Caramelo, was created the traces that gave life to ’Ecological Residence,’ a four-bedroom house, with 595,63m² built area, where architecture took advantage of the topography of the land to create a home fully connected to nature. Planned in three interrelated plans, the house was titled ecological by having an architecture fully integrated to environment, because it was designed to respect the topography of the land and the native vegetation. Pillars supporting the building, indentations, hollow spaces and determinant deviations were thought to surround the shady trees of Horto Florestal, one of Salvador’s wealthiest neighborhoods and overcome the steep slope of the land. “We chose to make the house float over the green and look over the landscape of Horto Florestal, but without sacrificing comfort, technology and the security currently available”, says Caramelo. In addition to large suites, balconies and rooms, the house also includes a glass walkway 12 meters high from the ground and vegetation, with the purpose of integrating social and leisure areas, large windows for cross ventilation and a suspended deck where is the endless border swimming pool. Are also part of the house a gourmet kitchen, fitness center, sauna, barbecue and home theater.
