This 250sqm three-storey apartment belongs to a big Indian Family. The owner bought it recently but the original layout was not very comfortable and stunning. So he wanted his new home to be bright, openness and contemporary. He also wanted his kids to have their own bedrooms, and a little in-house temple to pray according to the Indian tradition.
Designers took few significant steps to help the client to reach those wishes in his dream house. First, they started from creating a new layout. By rebuilding a new walnut wood staircase to connect the living area and 3rd level solved the problem of accessing to there from another staircase. The beautiful lines and structure of the walnut wood staircase give a strong and warm character to the house.
Now, the family can always easily enjoy a beautiful view as well as have a nice dinner in the bar and barbecue area on the new designed rooftop terrace. By removing the original staircase, an extra lounge was created for family activity which can also serve as a guest room when needed.
The large piece of glass installed on the edge of staircase fulfilled the need of safety. Meanwhile, it maintained the feeling of openness of the staircase and the entrance, too. Custom-made elements were found around the apartment, such as the colorful furniture in the kids’ bedrooms.
Simple boiseries in different gray tones created a lot of useful storage space. Other special materials were also chosen, including the decorated tiles from Italy were used in the bathroom, different kinds of beautiful wallpapers for all the bedrooms, a designer light in the dining area. There are still too many small surprises to be discovered in the house!
